Hello! This is my first time posting stuff here -- I've been on and off on doing gesture drawings until lately, I want to continue to do these more often.

I very much appreciate it for any comments as I do want another pair of eyes and see what I can improve . . .'cuz well, I don't know if I'm doing it "right."

Most of them are just 1 minute and 2 minute gestures

I'll continue bumping this thread to showcase my progression

Okay, not exactly happy with this round -- both my thumb and wrist started to tingle during my session
    Again, 1min and 2min gestures

Today, I decide to rollback to 30-second gestures just to push myself a bit all because . . .my linework is yet to be desired.
And I included a sanguine-colored stroke to show how I perceive the line of action as an afterthought.

As you could tell . . .I struggle on 30-seconds

Hello, I’m not sure this counts as a critique, but I find your drawings very energetic and lively. It was especially helpful to see the different colored line of action on your 30 second drawings (even if you like them less) because that made the concept of a line of action much clearer to me. The drawings you spent longer on and therefore built out more are still so dynamic that I could see the movement in each pose more clearly than I have been from the photographs. Thank you for posting!

Starting to do more 30-second gestures  . . .again, just trying to improve my linework . . .or using less lines.

    And the occasional 1-minute

Like before, I have the sanguine-colored line to indicate (my perception) the line-of-action

And a bonus, I did 1-minute facial expression session . . .just for funzies

I wasn't aiming for realism or accuracy yet but more on capturing expression and exaggeration

I should do more of those, and maybe one day I'll do a proper portrait drawing

Hi, as another person said before I really like you're sense of the movement in all of the drawings. Maybe if you want to improve your line work try using a fineliner or what I really like is using a glass pen, pen or bamboo pen. Like that you would be forced to only focus on your lines.
Good luck and keep practicing ;)

Dammit! I just remembered why I didn't bother doing gestures with pen! I'm about to tear these pages apart!

     . . .

Just kiddin' -- I managed to find some old drawing paper and not my usual newsprint cuz I hate the feeling of drawing pen on newsprint.

Anyway, this is just alcohol markers on standard drawing paper -- there might be some bleed as I don't have much paper on hand. Not really used to doing gestures with ink as I tend to scribble more often than I do with charcoal.

For one minute or two minute sketches, I'd say these are fantastic! You have a really good sense of the placement of the ribcage and hips like with "the bean" technique. You also have some pretty good line quality in some areas with longer, more confident lines instead of sketchy, somewhat random ones. If you feel able, it would be great to see your heads and limbs a little more developed. Some of the sketches have a more complete sense of these parts than others. Overall, though, just keep doing what you're doing!

    (Oh finally! Images finally worked!)

Posting more 30 seconds and 1-minute gestures using markers -- decided to do simple expressions on the one-minute drawings. I really should not be afraid of making mistakes. . .but I hate that as I have a "perfection" complex! >.<!

And I realized something -- Everytime I get a pose that has its arms overlapping over the body, it bugs me alot that I tend to make it so muddy as I usually draw the body/torso (and head) first before the arms. And every time I draw to draw the arms first, it pretty much throws me off alot as I couldn't identify the underlying construction first. . .sorry if I don't make sense for this part.

. . .And don't mind my pj bottoms . . .I do have a "questionable" sense of fashion

EDIT* Nope -- images do not work; still gotta use links

Unfortunately all of those imgur links are redirecting away from the image file and to the image embedded in a website. Since they won't display as images, we can't embed them =/

So how do I exactly embed them? It would be great if I can do that rather than using links
