    I think starting from an overall structure and divide it into parts can help . I make it into three main parts :head chest and pelvic cavity. Learn the proportion of the body parts and the distribution of muscles. If it’s still complex , maybe imagine it into the simplest matchstick man. But the most important is practice I think.

    pushing through lots of quick drawings of 30 60 seconds can help. try scribbling through the body in the general proportions you see, you'll get the hang of the proportions after some practice (:

    Hi! What helps me with gesture drawing is to look at the bigger picture. AKA, making general shapes of the body before diving deeper into detail. Thinking of the body parts as circles and ovals can help draw in the silhouette of the figure. Also, starting with 15-30 second drawings is a great place to start. They're quick sketches so they will not be amazing, however very useful in training the eye. Take advantage of the "line of action" which follows the figure.
