Another male study

Done as part of a practice session with poses of 5 seconds in length.

LOL, certainly not. I used the pause button and, I dont know. 40 minutes to an hour?

My current goal is: Develop my own signature drawing style (advanced)

I guess I can rate that as overall improvement. Some problems I found decent solutions, other details I hope will be mostly ignored and carried from the rest of the image. I think the direction is correct, but the progress is crawlingly slow.

I really need to indicate the geometry with way less lines on the light side, though. Maybe just indicating the shadow shapes, without any actual hatching at all might do the trick?

Well, Aunt Herbert, if you cut off more of the actual hatching and crosshatching, then you may get a lot of actual lighter values complementing the more darkly hatched and crosshatched values. Keep going, please!!

Totally agree. Either I'll try with just indicating the shapes, and leave the viewer's brain with the task to fill in the hatching pattern for me, or I will have to switch to fineliner for this areas, as I just don't have enough fine control over the brush to keep lines consistently as thin as I would need them to be.

Yeah, Aunt, I agree, it is the most difficult to capture the finest lines with a brush pen.
