April 13, 2020 10:09pm #25442Good start. In the quick sketches, you make it pretty clear where the hands are, but what about the feet? I would also investigate other types of drawing such as contour drawing. You don't want to get stuck just using one "formula" to make figures.

I don't think you learn much by tracing. If you are an expert would say that it's OK to use it once in a while as a time saver when you have already mastered drawing and proportion, but even then, don't make a habit of it.

It will help loosen up your drawings and possibly give you some insights you might not discover if you draw only with the hand that has the best fine-motor control. Total control is not always a good thing.
This works best if you work large--at least 18 x 24.
