Done as part of a 30 minute class.

My current goal is: I don't know! I am an absolute beginner; I'm here to study the basics of rendering

i just did those. The two ladies where 5 minute exercises and the guy should have taken 10 minutes. But after 6 minutes I didn't know what else to add or how to correct anything without starting over. Now I have some questions.

What happend to the guy with the hand? His face somehow got way too long. And his nose seems off too. Can someone point out what I did wrong? And the woman laughing with an open mouth dose not look happy at all, does she? Why is that?

How can I correct anything in my drawing while scetching without erasing?

I'd say you're not doing a bad job as a beginner. Portraits are hard. That is also due to the way we're trained to look at faces. To fraw them well we have to train ourselves to look at tjem in a differen way. It shows you are already implementingthe Loomis method to get the proportions and position of the head. I suggest pushing this further to treating all the features of the head as just 3d forms (this can help you stop looking at them as a specific face feature but rather as just forms in relation to other forms). This might sound complicated and at firts it may seem to even crippple the 'pretty' effect of your drawings but it will help you be more aware of the 3d aspect of the face and how the features relate to each other in 3d space. You have a good eye for observation (I can recognize the people in the photos and that's good) so just take your time and practice. It will not be perfect, but part of the learning is embracing the imperfect and noticing the flaws (this is the room for improvement that you see -and seeing it is already a big step forward)

Thank you very much! This comment helped a lot and gave me a new direction. I will try to figure out what you said about the forms in relation to each other. And while I am working on that I'm gonna keep on practicing to get more experience.
