Hey! It’s so nice to see you both again — hope you’ve been doing well! I’m really happy to see this group’s still alive hahaha. Thanks so much for the kind words! :D Luckily, it’s never too late to get back into something you love, so best of luck on your journey with illustration!

As for your question, it’s a fun topic because every artist ends up developing their own process when it comes to creating a character. Personally, I’d recommend starting by gathering some references of how you’d like your character to look, as well as the kind of world they live in. Once you’ve got that down, move on to the silhouette phase! But if you’re just getting into character design, it’s totally fine to start by exploring details and ideas freely — no pressure!

Silhouettes mainly help make your character more readable at a quick glance. So in short: figure out how you want your character to look, give them a personality and a world to live in, and most importantly, have fun with the details! Wishing you lots of success, and cheers!

Hi! I'm Leblanc Cruz, and I'm from Mexico City. I'm 21 years old and currently studying for my Bachelor's degree in Animation and Digital Art. I'm developing my skills in concept art, illustration, animation, and 3D modeling to become an art director or lead a creative project, either in my country or abroad.

I love concept art—especially the kind of work created in the video game industry, like League of Legends. I also enjoy playing video games, and I hope to work in this industry someday. My main portfolio is on Instagram, but I’ll be uploading new works to ArtStation soon.

Nice to meet you all! I’m looking forward to learning a lot from you and hopefully collaborating in the future! :D
