As a complete beginner, I think you're off to a great start. Here's my recommendations:
1. Work on smooth lines in one stroke. There are many exercises for this but generally just doing it in your drawings is best. Ghost the lines first (aka trace what you will do without putting the pencil to paper), then once you start a line, commit to it!
2. Check out Proko's videos on the bean. This is a really great starting point for figure drawing and getting the overall forms of the torso.
3. My biggest struggle and something I recommend others do, take a lot of time to look at the drawing (if you're spending a longer time on the drawing, ex. 10+ min). Really see what is there.

Awesome start and keep at it!
