by Emmamora, September 2nd 2019 © 2019 Emmamora

Hi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm new to the line of action community! Please let me know what you think of my first session here! I'd love any pointers!

Done as part of a 1 hour class.

My current goal is: Fluidity, volume, action!

Hello emmamora!

I love how you really focus on the line of action; that in itself already gives a drawing lot's of fluidity! Good job :)

On a small note, remember that gesture drawing is all about speed and fluidity; the lesser lines you do, the more time you'll have for drawing other parts of the figure. You tend to draw over the same line when drawing the circle representing the head, and you did that on the top right corner, on the arm. Try to keep this in mind, as it will help you draw more quickly and with more fluidity, I believe!

One thing that might help you is, after drawing the line of action, try to draw the line between the shoulders and then the line between the hips. Those extra 2 lines can help really give a sense of fluidity and volume, since it indicates how inclined the shoulders or hips are compared to each other!

Keep it up!
