River and Eiffel Tower

by Polyvios Animations, February 7th 2020 © 2020 Polyvios Animations

Done as part of a practice session with poses of 10 minutes in length.

My current goal is: Improve at correctly controlling & understanding distorting the 4-point perspective in a scene and/or environment.

Hello, Line of Action, Polyvios, here. Listen, here is my latest drawing for the night. It's of the Eiffel Tower and the French Riviera. I really see far too least of the 4 point perspective in this shot, but, I really think and feel that the composition is very well designed and has some compliments and is harmonious. What do you think? What can I do to make it work with my character, Sammy Smart Guy?

I think having some more detail in some places would help alot, this looks good but it is very general lines, I find that having say a few leaves in detail helps your brain fill in the rest, and especially with buildings you should try having more specific lines. I do like the composition and I think it looks very good!

Hi Polyvos,

I saw your perspective drawings, with 4 p perspective. In my opinion I will try to do more clear the perspective planes, I'm not able to identify any. I will try 1 point, and so on, till the 4. I like the expression of the stroke though

I think what might help you practice is focusing on drawing with one color instead of using multiple colors during practice. If your aim is exploring/practicing multiple perspectives, a single color can remove any potential clutter from the picture and allow you to focus on positioning, shapes, and details. You did well to show the tower and the river; balancing both out with negative space might make it easier to find the perspective angles as well as making details pop.
