i feel like the main point of not using CTRL + Z is to force you to be more deliberate with the marks you put down in a gesture drawing, so if you're a beginner i suggest that you dont use ctrl+z.

Thanks again! that cleared up quite a lot of confusion ive had. Also if you dont mind, is there any way for me to know whether i am heading in the right direction? Whether i am doing the right or wrong things in practising art in general? I seem to have this anxiety where i stop practising out of fear that i might be practising the wrong habits and will have to unlearn them later.

Thanks for the insightful reply! Also if you dont mind, is there a way to gauge improvement in art? I know when setting goals there must be accountability so i can determine whether ive acheived it or not.

I've Been kinda confused about what I need to learn. It's really hard to see things in the big picture when there are so many things to know. If you don't mind, I also want to know why these fundamentals are important in the first place. I've been told that they're important but I don't really know the how. I apologise if this is too much too ask.

Any advice on drawing the torso? i seem to struggle with it a lot since i dont really know how to draw the connection between the torso and the pelvis, i tend to elongate it a lot. Additionally, i struggle with drawing twisting forms as everytime i draw it, im liable to making it not twisted.

By the way, if you spot more mistakes that i missed, feel free to tell me.

Finally, may i know whether studying anatomy will help me with my gesture drawings? How in depth should i study it? I appreciate you taking your time to read this. :)

I don't get why this is happening to me, one day I can draw pretty well. Then for the next few months there's a sudden quality drop.

I think i have major difficulty trying to bring things to a finish, when i try to i usually end up copying the contour which people tell me not to do and instead think of the "form" instead of line. Any advice on this? If there are any other issues, feel free to critique as much as you like. I want to improve quickly.
