your proportions are good but what I see that you should improve is your line quality and your gesture. The main thing to have in mind is to use the fewest line as possible. I would'nt focus to much on shading at this stage because it is more distractive than helping. So try to look for those fluids lines to show the gesture instead of putting lots of them just to express one action line. Hope this advice helped you and keep working :))

I feel that you are spending a little too much time trying to capture the shadows instead of capturing the overall shape. Personally, shading is quite time consuming and something I admittedly should practice more often, but getting the overall shape of certain lines and forms would probably help you better understand the proportions.
