30 minute hands

Done as part of a 30 minute class. My current goal is: Reduce stiffness and make my drawings feel more dynamic, energetic, fluid Focused on foreshortening this time!

Looking good! Those 5 and 10 minute drawings are really coming along. One exercise you might try is instead of trying to recreate every detail of the image, try to find the ‘bare minimum’ lines needed to convey the pose. Think stick figures, nice long lines. I would highly recommend the Proko (Stan Prokopenko) video on “how to draw gesture”, available on youtube if you’re interested. Keep up the good work! :)

Thank you so much for the recommendation! I'll try to implement it within the next couple of classes, will definitely watch that video :)

I think thease are looking great! They defintly are looking fluid and and dynamic. You can even see in your 30 secound scetches that there is motion and you can get a pretty good idea of what the hands are doing. The only thing I would suggest is to study all difftent kinds of hands, some people may have longer and more delicate looking hands. This may help emphasise the way your person looks (you don't want a danty character with large hands!) Keep up the great work though!

Marvelous hands and feet, mariearroyo, however, I've got one tiny request: Why don't you try to loosen up in your next ever 10 minute hand or foot, pretty, pretty, pretty please, please, please??? The excuse why is because, your hands and feet will feel the least stiffest, and the most dynamic, energetic, vital, and fluid. Hope and cry for that it'll be really greatest for you.

I feel like the index joints on the 10 minute OK sign sketch is too abrupt. Try making the lines rounder, and make the first and second phalanges straighter so to not have them too bent. Screen+Shot+2018-04-15+at+8.58.49+AM.png
Notice how the phalanges are only slightly bent. even from the angle you drew, it still isn't as drastic. Try looking at your own hand as reference. Good luck!
