Getting back into Figure Drawing
© 2022 JayyDone as part of a 1 hour class.
I want to become a 2D animator so my current goal is to become better at understanding human anatomy and drawing the proportions accurately, so I can render imagined poses as well as animating the human figure. Any tips and critiques on how I may improve will be most appreciated! Thank you.

Jayy, I recognize the 25 min pose as one of mine and I like how you've captured the energy I was trying to portray. Nicely done!

Great details and rendering on the longer sketches, this is a very good study on anatomy.
The critique I could offer is that most of your poses seem far too stiff. Especially since you're pursuing a career in animation, I think it's important to capture the flow and movement of the figure as well as accurate anatomy. In that vein, I'd suggest starting off some sessions with a handful of 30 second sketches and force yourself to do some simple gesture drawings. Try to caputre the movement of the pose before you try to nail down the actual bones and muscles. Thank you for taking the time to critique my work. It means a lot and helps me towards my journey. I agree my poses do seem stiff, I will take your advice and take the time to capture the gesture and flow of the figures as well as looking into the links you've sent for both this session and my previous one. I can't thank you enough!
