Done as part of a 1 hour class.

My current goal is: Improve at correctly capturing the overall proportions of the human form.

This was a 25min. effort, more at the link. I especially struggle with the torso/hips and getting them to connect organically. Any and all feedback appreciated!!!

this looks really good! when adding shadows, try to block out the shapes of the shadows the same as if you're drawing the outlines of the body parts themselves. and don't restrict yourself to lines and circles to get the position of the limbs down- for example i see a triangle on the right leg extending from the butt to the ankle then the curve of the knee adjoining the other two sides- do you see what i mean? seeing shapes in the negative space might help with proportions. hope that helps a little!! theres a quick video series on youtube called "figuary" by love life drawing that has a lot of tips :) ive only watched 10 of the videos but they're super quick and informative. hope i was able to help even a little, keep up the amazing work!

thank you so much! you're my first ever critique on a drawing outside of one class i took in college, so it really means a lot and you've given me a ton to think about just in this single comment! much appreciated!

ps- the figuary thing is a project that grew out of croquis cafe, if you've never heard of it you should check it out! basically it's a recorded life drawing session, it just adds a little more energy to the experience than still photos!
