20 minutes in

My current goal is: Improve my shading and rendering of light.

I fixed the contrast after scanning for better visibility on this one

Doesn't look like you attempted to shade yet but love the sketch, you captured the expression very well in my opinion~ Im not quite sure how I could help u improve since im a beginner myself :,) but nice work!

Nicest job on your quicker, 20 minute sketch, Aunt, way to go on that one! My critique is that though the realism and humanity are already there, and maintained the quickest sketch for 10 minutes, but I'm not really getting enough of the smoothest and slickest appeal in the line control and quality. Would you please do 30 more minutes of 6 second facial scribbles? (1800/6=300 scribbles of expressions)

The logical basis is, as long as you do those not-so-perfect warm-up drawings (along with some line practice warm-ups, that you'll find on Google or any search engine), then you'll have the most easiest time with the appealing realism and line quality in the facial portraits. Good luck and I hope this helps.
