When drawing plants, I usually use a few small shapes or lines, but the best advice I can give is to not complicate the process. Try using simple shapes and adding very little detail. You can also look for references to the plants you're drawing and study them. Breaking them down to their basic form helped me a lot when I first started out. Overall, I think the sketch is nice and is fine as is. I hope this helps!
