Pen & ink drawings using a Micron 0.005 in. pen. If you make a mistake, too bad, you can not change or correct it. For over 6 years, I have used an ink pen to do my drawing. Why? I used them because I like the type of drawing ink gives me. In drawing these, I did not use any structure, preliminary lines for guidance. I just started drawing. They prove my contention that practice makes better. Betsy is one of the best, if not the best, model that LoA has. Which is why I looked for her photos and selected her. The top figure has a messed up right leg. In ink, so it's too bad.

Love your Betsy poses, txWilliep, very solid, but I don't think you've really messed up your her right leg construction and proportions at the top section.

If I could give you an honest answer, then it would be to study some multi-point perspective. Why don't you please go do that? The reason why is because, so that there are many examples to learn and study from, this:

Take it with a grain of salt, for there are much more functional ones online, like this one.

Hope it's been completely and totally utile.

You did not read my explanation under the picture(last sentence - I agree with you - drawing with pen & ink you can not correct it). I thank you for critiquing my drawing. Plus the video. How would multipoint perspective help? I understand you are an animator but how would that help me? When I taught school I did teach Flash. Now I just draw a picture.

Very cool! I would recommend making the hatch lines follow the volumes present on the body to make the figure pop out more from the paper and look less flat. Instead of straight hatches, curved ones. I love micron pens too, very cool work!

Thank you for your critique of my drawing. The shading is what I have used forever, even with pencil. I have attended a local life drawing session for over 6 yrs. It is a 2 hr session with 15 min break doing 1 min (warm-up), 2 min, 5 min, and a longer pose of say 10 min or so. I have the works of these sessions in 30 volumes, with an average of 175 drawings per volume. I like the Micron pens also.

Love the crosshatching style you went with for these! I think you can take that and make them look even better if the hatches were more closer together, making the marks less messy. Keep up the great work!

I get the exercise, and it seems you are on the right track,

proportions seem well lain out for the approach.

I would say that there is a bit of unusual structure in the volume and features but that will get better with practice.

Also, just because you aren't putting down structure lines before hand shouldn't mean your cant site line the structured relationships between features

the top left woman's facial features should be noted for this.

I would also note the things that you know are incorrect or off like the volume of the top left woman's fingers.

then go and attack those areas of study. Do structure hand study's after a few pages of those areas in need of work, come back to this exercise and try again

your work shows lots of promise just note what needs improvement and keep doing what you are doing
