Hey there, it's very good that you're simplifying shapes to understand the figure better. I would advice you to draw little dots to where do you want to place the limbs so you get used to drawing the whole figure too, practicing phantom lines/ghost lines can also help you have more confidence in your lines. Drawabox is an excellent source to improving your linework if you desire to do that
I super appreciate the advice! I just have one question, what are phantom/ghost lines? Otherwise i will be checking out Drawabox and see if its something i would find useful. Thanks again
Oh I attached the link about ghost lines. They're pretty much just bulding muscle memory before drawing a line on the paper, so you have to keep a small distance from the paper and your pen/pencil before drawing the desired line, just doing the motion a couple times to build more confidence and eventually draw a line in one shot rather than just petting a line. This will make your drawings look more confident and cleaner :-)
