Head Practice!

by Slenderali, July 2nd 2024 © 2024 Slenderali
Done as part of a practice session with poses of 5-10 minutes in length. My current goals are to internalize head structure so that I can design from my imagination and develop my personal style.

Beautiful and skillful drawings. You highlight important points nicely. The pictures look like the models.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that!

I admire how lively your drawings look, that gives each face kind of his own emotional character and expression.

Thank you!!! This is one of my challenges I'm trying to work through, so I'm glad to know it's working out!

Say, Slenderall, greatest job on how well you've delineated personality in your faces and expressions sketches in terms of their emotional thoughts, feelings, and of course, moods.(especially that one with the shaggiest beard and hugest glasses above this text.) Though I'm pleased with your strongest but totally ambitious ideas for your caricature drawings, but those gestures could and would have been completely their gutsiest, boldest, but powerful. Would you care to kindly go ahead with 25 face and expressions drawings with 30 seconds for each?

The logical explanation is because, it's basically like drawing the movement of the figures, yet, you're just going for the most clearest lines. So for even most details, please be sure to look into most practice stuff from the Daniel Coyle manual on Audible, The Little Book of Talent. Thank you.

I'm aiming to do 100 heads total, and then an extra 20-30 exactly how you described, with only a 30-60 gesture. This is super helpful and definitely feels like I'm on the right track. Thank you!

Gorgeous studies!!!

I love how well you were able to capture the 3D-ness of the eyes, lots of people forget that they're actually spheres in our skulls that bulge out a bit (and the irises sit ever so slightly "on top" of the whites of our eyes as well, and the pupils are so very slightly on top of the irises, although in a tiny bit of a dip).

Keep up the fantastic work! You got this <3
