Week 10: 2024/07/03 - 2024/07/09
Sharing the results of this week's drawing practice! ✨
I'm still working on the three-dimensionality of the head, but I'm hoping to overcome this by practicing more ellipses from different angles! ✏️✨
The challenge is to not get distracted by details when drawing on a large piece of paper. I'll do my best! 💪.
I'm waiting for lots of advice and comments!

I watched the original video of the hand and after reviewing it, I drew the gesture in thin lines and then drew it in.
I thought it would be good if I could visualize the first gesture line in my brain.

Before starting to draw, there is an effort to determine where to draw the line, but the line is not drawn at the precise point.

I think the hand sketches are good with a cartoonish direction. The basic exercise of drawing a star shape is a struggle.
I am trying to draw an ellipse inside a perspective distorted square and then draw a star inside the ellipse, but I am not sure where to draw the lines correctly.

When I was drawing it, I felt like I was drawing it reasonably well, but when I look back at it, there are many things that bother me, such as the distortion of the oval in the back of the head, the position of the cheekbones, etc.

2024/07/08 Sketches of food

I pay attention to the emotion when I draw food so that I can put emotion into the drawing. When the serving is voluptuous, I try to make it look as if it will expand.

When drawing on a large piece of paper (B4), I drew as big as I could on the paper, but it didn't work out because I focused on the details.
The 2 or 3 minute ones are better drawn than the ones that I spent 5 minutes drawing carefully.

Thank you very much.

Yet still, the gestures have way, way, way, WAY too many and too much lines in terms of the boiling down of the shapes, stills, and figure forces over forms. How would you like to please lighten up, loosen up, but liven up your largest lines with 19 20 second drawings?
The reason why is because, if you can and will apply perspective with most intuitive gesture drawing with one-line gestures, then what's and who's stopping you? Here's a link of this here surprise Perspective Drawing Course that's in pre-order, which I've yet to purchase to try out. It's from Proko.com, featuring a perspective drawing course by American artist and illustrator and cartoonist and designer, Marshall Vandruff. Please take this pre-order with the biggest grain of salt.
Thank you.

Is it bad that the images are uploaded to imgr?
I am not good at English and use translation software, so I may not be understanding you well.
I will try to paste the X (Twitter) image from this week.
Thanks also for the Proko course information.
I need to make an effort to reduce the lines with 20 second gesture drawings.
There are other practices available and I will start with 10 poses.
I will try the following program next week.
Thank you.
28sec x 15pose opposite hand of dominant hand
20sec x 10pose gesture drawing with reduced lines
30sec x 10pose 30sec croquis
60sec x 4pose 1 minute croquis
120sec x 3pose 2 minute croquis
300sec x 1pose 5minute croquis
