60 seconds

Done as part of a practice session with poses of 60 seconds in length.

My current goal is: Improve at correctly capturing the overall proportions of the human form

Fox Robison
Lovely lines, excellent job of creating playfulness through lines, proportions seem logical as the eye adjusts to see the figure hidden within the loops and curves.

As an exploration the session went well, if considered as a foundation for a longer session however the cluttered and busy lines would be difficult to build ontop of. The motion is inviting nevertheless and gives abstract life to the form.

To avoid erasing excessively or getting trapped in line work as you build, consider dialing back on the sketching approach and use your fluid mark making to your advantage. Forget what you are drawing and instead focus on representing the abstract shapes that build the form. Much like calligraphy, be more intentional with your lines. By making fewer chaotic marks you will free up time to study your subject more before placing the mark, it’ll contribute to a more calmed approach and deliver a more easily workable construction to build and play with.
