Longhaul portrait -final

Final shot, I was unhappy with the intrusive hatching pattern on the cheek, so I tried to break it up a bit with tip-ex.

My current goal is: Improve my shading and rendering of light.

I looked at your other works. You have been busy (very good). Your present drawing is very strong. Facial geography is largely determined by the underlying skull features. The cheekbone, upper forehead, eye sockets, mouth & teeth provide most of the underlying shapes the outer skin is placed over & provide the landscape the exterior light plays over. Check out the site Pinterest. I pulled it up & put in the search for Pen & Ink drawing. Many different faces came up. I would also look for engravings of faces. In our local life drawing sessions, my favorite drawing instrument is pen & ink. After your study of additional sources, you might want to do a 4th version.
