12-Second-Long Scribblier Study of Animal Lines

by Polyvios Animations, May 22nd 2021 © 2021 Polyvios Animations

Done as part of a practice session with poses of 12 seconds in length.

My current goal is: Work on my signature drawing style of sketching animal forces, gestures, and acting, most quickly. (advanced)

This is yet another loosest animal warm-up sketch, all done with watercolor, crayon on notebook paper. My style, as you can see there above, I'm really giving lots of spontaneity and sparkle in these exercises. What do you really think about this one? Is my style really stronger and fastest enough for you??

I like the composition and the organic lines contrasted with the pattern underneath (which feels geometric by contrast. i wonder if you'd enjoy developing these more, digitally....? just a thought. Im not sure how you like to work.

Thanks for the feedback.

Anyway, I'm doing this form of art therapy as a way of catharsis, just as an excuse to get working on my drawing speed.

Have a great morning/noon/evening.

I think you shoul so more counsius kind of exercise. This ones are good for you fine dexterity, but you will mostly be using your fingers. For better drawing you should be trainin gthe hole arm. Using your sholder and elow to draw will give you more range in your strokes. So focus in making straight lines and long curved strokes, make the lines no too fast but steady. You shold aim for really quality in your lines.

Make a page or two as a warm up before you draw, and you wil notice the more you do it that your lines will get better.
