Work in progress - coloured pencils. Loving using coloured pencils. Building the colours is amazing 😍 it's a slow process, but it's very relaxing!

Hello Hathel,

I really like the use of colours in your drawing, very natural feeling despite their stylised feel. I like the idea, the choice you seem to have made of being very detailed in certain parts, and very suggestive for others. On that note, I might say that the idea might gain by being pushed further and maybe integrating this aspect of the creation from the very beginning and really owning this style of drawing. here, I get an impression that it might have been an afterthought? I also believe that this approach might add a certain dynamic quality to the drawing, that seems ever so slightly stiff to me. I say this because I like your drawing a lot, and believe there is potential for great improvement. Thznk you for sharing, and great work!

Thank you benthorseshoe, it was a bit of an afterthought and I was just playing with colours to see what I could do, then really fell in love with the process, so you're right in saying that it's a bit of a 'fly by the seat of toir pants'. I like the idea of implementing this further, thank you for the tip! Yes, I am still working on loosening up my gestures, they always feel a bit stiff, but I'm practising alot, so hopefully I'll make some improvement in time 😀 Thank you so much for your kind words and advice!

Good afternoon again, Brho.

Again, you've done a more nicer job on your ranges of colors, tones, gestures, spaces, and relationships (proportions and angles). But, I think your exaggeration of proportions and angles are totally spot on, therefore, I feel that these lines all need more loosening up, in addition to the shapes and spaces. Why don't you please do 1 hour of 30 second looser pose warmups?

The reason is because, your colors, tones and gestures will be sketched out less stiffer and more dynamic, energetic, and fluider. For most info on tips and tricks on learning how to draw, kindly look into a Kindle of PDF of Daniel Coyle's The Little Book of Talent, here?

Good luck to you, and your learning curve.
