Careful! That'll tickle.

Exercise-Draw shading with hatches from memory.

Funny story time.

In the midst of my exercise, as stated above, my husband came into my studio to see what I wanted for dinner. After looking at what I was doing: Shading the lower leg to the undercarriage, he said with real concern, "Careful!"

I looked up at him with agitation and said, "What?! What is wrong?"

He smiled trying to keep a straight face and said, "That'll tickle."

I laughed so hard that I forgot how the shading was supposed to go. I tried to regain control and keep going, but I lost the drawing- especially in the face.

You win some, and you lose some.

Well, anyway, any critiques would be much appreciated.

Lost memory to laughter,

Say, Jcmlfineart, I must see some strongest improvement in your lightest of lines in your figure and face. Greatest stuff, but these lines all seem too heaviest handed to me yet, so why don't you please liven up your lines of action and rhythm and beauty with 6 more hours of 12 second poses?(Though you could use some 10-45 minute breaks inbetween)

The reason why you could use this exercise is because, your memory hatched drawings will be the least silted and the most dynamic, vitalest, but energetic, though you shoudn't worry about the tickle too much yet, but you can have all the fun with gesture sketcing in the world. For most info, please kindly look into the Mike Mattessi and Nancy Beiman eBooks online.

Good luck and my hat's off to you.

Polyvouis,

Thanks for the book references. I appreciate that you always leave a resource for me to learn from in my drawing skills.

I hope you are well.

All the best,

Try to bring the second layer of hatching at an angle of about 30 degrees to the first, as the streak in the cage looks very noticeable
