Hey there! I had some issues finding the link you had posted so I fixed the message for you. :)

Your gestures are looking pretty solid to me. What goal do you have in mind for improvements?

My one current piece of critique is to try and do shorter gestures in less but more confident strokes. Instead of smaller, repeated 'scratches' to get the figure down, it helps to minimize the short gestures by capturing motion and/or proportions in a couple of 'swoops' of lines. Being confident and bolder with your lines to capture the essence of motion and proportion has more benefits than to try and get an accurate figure down with some scribbling. Can you give that a try and see how it works out for you?

    Hey there!

Your gestures look pretty decent! How long have you been drawing?

If you want to do animation, understanding anatomy is absolutely important. Your gestures show that there are still some underlying issues with your ability to put together the different body parts and how to angle them correctly.

You may want to start by simplifying your gestures into more basic lines to capture motion and get proportions down first before you work out a sketch more. One of our members has some good visual examples of how to get basic form and motion down into a few simple pencil strokes, I highly recommend their thread: https://line-of-action.com/forums/topic/my-daily-gesture-drawings/

It's been a joy catching up with your thread, Swen! Thanks for all these amazing examples once again. :)

    Hi there!

It looks like you're trying to use a plain link inside an image tag. Image tags only works with URLs that end in an image file format, for example .jpg, .gif, .png and so forth. Regular links that don't have this won't work inside the img tags.

Feel free to link directly to your DevaintArt submissions if you like though!

    Hi there!

Can you tell us more about the devices you're using? It helps to know the type of device (PC, tablet or mobile phone), OS (Windows, Apple) and browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Firefox etc.) you're using to pinpoint the issue.

    Hello Mopet!

We're very eagerly looking forward to expanding our library not just with more (nude) male models, but with models from a very wide range of ethnicity, age, gender and body types in general!

It's difficult to pinpoint when this will happen exactly, but rest assured it's something we're working towards. :)

    Hi artillery-voodoo!

We always appreciate it when people want to share their works with us. :) It makes us happy to see the community so involved!

One of the reasons we've invested time and money into doing our own photoshoots in the past is because it gives us the ability to maintain consistent quality and retain full ownership over those parts of our library. That's our goal for the foreseeable future because it simplifies things from both a practical and legal perspective.

However, if people wish to donate their photography, they're welcome to submit examples through the contact form (you can host images on sites like http://www.imgur.com ) and we'll check them out and see if they'll fit into our libraries. :)

    Hi guijinci!

I'm afraid I can't see any of the images. Can you try uploading images to a different image host site, for example http://www.imgur.com ?

    Hi RottingOfMemory!

I'm really sorry the way our features are setup is not meeting your specific needs. The tools are mainly designed to complement a 'traditional' method of gesture study, which doesn't mean you get the chance to refine and sketch into serious detail like you would without some sort of timer.

IPanic made a good suggestion though! We have custom timers, which technically means you can set a really long timer too. I hope that helps?

    Hi there!

We don't host icons on Line of Action itself. Instead we use GRavatar (Globally Recognized Avatars). It's an icon that is linked to your email address and many sites across the internet will automatically display it if they use GRavatar.

You can set one for your email address here: https://en.gravatar.com/

    Hey Silverfox!

We've got all of that planned out already. :) We're aching for more diversity in our tools, and we've been wanting a tool for architecture for a while now as well.

It's all being worked on behind the scenes where resources permit, so all we can really say at this point is 'hold on to your horses because it's coming'!

    Hey Angela!

Thanks for your suggestion. :) I don't know the exact plans at this time but I've passed your suggestion on to Kim for consideration.

Welcome to the forum Kela! I'm glad to see you find our tools useful. :D

I'm really impressed with your gestures! There's something quite charming and raw about the stylization there, and if you're learning from it then that's the most important thing.

Is there a particular reason you're using the mediums you use?

I could probably suggest to start with more broken down gestures at quicker intervals, but I'm curious to understand the reasoning behind the stylization. What goals do you have to work towards with your practices?

That's alright! You might want to try and do a few studies on skeletons to get a better sense of what the bone structure is like. If you understand that, the rest will become easier too.
