    Hi

I think you're gestures are really amazing, your proportions look great too

I don't know if you digital or physical, but if you're drawing digitally then you can try doing a gesture, then overlaying it with the reference to see how "accurate" you are, but I don't think you have to be 100-100% all the time. But I'm no pro myself so yeah haha

    Good luck

honestly i was trying to draw a lot more than this in the time limit.

Recently ive started my drawing sessions with an exercise thats like, just letting your mind and hand draw whatever without worrying about failure. I do feel like its made me a little more aware of my lines when im practicing and im not just throwing down nonsense hoping it looks good

anyway though, any advice or exercise recommendations to go from here? i want to be able to draw humans from imagination (long term goal) and characters/animals are my focus right now

    thanks and many appreciations

    hi all
its been a long time since i've last posted here, and i'd like to hope i've improved. I've recently decided to go back and rehash the fundamentals like gesture and anatomy and just wanted some critique on what im doing.

the 2 attached photos mainly focus on the anatomy (with a few doodles) of the ribs/hips and a few muscles around the chest, my knowledge on legs is very limited

any tips are very appreciated! thank you and have a good weekend

thank you, ive appreciated the advice youve given up until now. currently my goal is understand the muscles of the limbs and torso, so i can actually draw with some level of detail. im also trying to relearn how to shade and use light which is really hard

this is something i just finished now. i wanted to challenge myself by creating a consistent 'comic' that would force me to use different references in different positions, to illustrate the person.

im keeping track of my art and i know im improving, but i dont know how to smooth any of the edges. any guidance is much appreciated.

    thank you

hello everyone. i think ive been focusing on the eye and nose for about 2 weeks now. 2 weeks with the eye and 1 week with the nose. drawing 3-5 were done just now with about 5 minutes taken for each, im also using a new mechanical pen for the first time so the lineart is a lot different.

there's not a lot in this one. i'm trying to take a new approach to this by continually redrawing a set until I'm more satisfied with it. perfect practice type beat. my biggest block to this is the fact that i really suck at shading, i've avoided it as much as i can so i think im losing a lot of depth because of that. with the last set at the bottom (3rd try) i tried constructing the eyelids like 2 really jaggy squares/rectangles and i think it's helped.

greetings. I'm really new to art in general. I've been practicing gestures for about a week now, and have been using different methods and combining different methods to create them. I guess my biggest gripe is that I struggle sometimes to keep things in proportion, and then I'll spend the rest of the minute trying to fix it and achieving nothing. I'm trying to force myself to use the "line of action" more and more, and start putting more expression into it instead of just trying to outline the character.

please let me know of anything I can do to improve. thank you in advance.
