I have been experiencing the same problem. This site is great for animals and I've improved immensely with them since using it, but doesn't do much in the way of other things. I tend to go somewhere else now for figure drawing models as well.

I use free-use image site like Pexels, collect 15 or 20 images of the subject I want and then time myself.

I am finding a lot of 'generic plant slideshows' on YouTube. You could always do that and pause it if you need a bit more time for a given image. With regard to backgrounds you could always find a image-centric blogging platform like tumblr or pintrest and collect stuff there for sessions.

I used to be a total eraser hog and take FOREVER to complete a drawing, even a quick sketch. I've gotten a lot better recently, and during my LoA sessions I intentionally "forget" to bring an eraser so I force myself to commit to whatever I do. In the quicker drawings it allows me to really easily see where I went wrong, and I find I am able to give myself better feedback.

I recently have been letting my eraser sneak back in for the longest drawings of the session, only to remove small detail mistakes, but I'm not sure if it's helping my technique or not yet.

Do you use an eraser in your practice sessions?

They look great - particularly your first ten-minute one!

I get into this habit with longer drawings where I find I am running out of stuff to do but still have time? Your second ten minute one looks a bit like something I'd do when I get to that point. The shapes and proportions look all right, but it looks like you've over-shaded and because of that it's lacking the 'pop' of the first one.

    Hope that helps!
