@Vyse I think it's great that you have a goal in mind. One of the most empowering things I did when I started to draw was to tell myself; "you can do that"
By this I mean that my current skill level is not as good as what I aspire to be, but with work and a firm grip on my goal I will be able to make it. I still do this if I see something that is particularly awesome that I want to replicate.

So good on you Vyse, You can definitely become that good, as long as you stick with it

That is some upload. I honestly haven't read all of it, but what I read I agree with.

Anyway, As many of you know, I like to hone my skill by doing a daily 30 minute class from this website. Recently, however I have found myself not exactly challenged by what I'm doing, so I decided to bring it up a notch and add color.

These drawing are Done in photoshop with the brush tool and the color picker tool. the one on the top is a 5 minute sketch and the one on the bottom is a 10 minute sketch.

one of the ways that I enjoy to keep my artistic skill up to date (and I believe that I have mentioned this), is to do a 30 minute class from this site. For me, 30 minutes is the perfect length for a quickie practice session. You don't get to frustrated and you stay lose. This was what I committed today:

one of the things I have mentioned doing to stay ahead is copy other artist styles. this is actually a good idea, as long as you don't go to far with it. if you play homage to n artist it is fine. Copy what they are doing once and make sure that people know that this is not your style. If you start claiming that this is your style that you came up with all on your own, you will have trouble. Not only because it is untrue, but because you will never live up to the origonal.

I hope this is not presumptuous of me, but I would like to offer a bit of advice.

I can see that you are very fond of line art and that is the style you are going for. I would like to see you try and add more depth to you shadows and completely avoid the line art all together. I think your drawings are great, but if you add that extra bit of depth it could really enhance them.

The way that I like to add depth to my figure drawing pieces, is to start with a black transparent brush and then use the pressure sensor to add different shades of grey to the drawing.  This was your whites become almost luminescent and you black very deep.

But that is just what I like to do.
