Horse practice poses

If your aim is to master the proportions of the horse, then don't just draw the outlines that are visible in the photo. Try to focus on the underlying shapes and how they fit together. You did this on the head but the bodies look like you were trying closely to copy what was on the reference picture, which is not bad but focusing on the underlying shapes will give you a better grasp of the overall form and proportion. Also, don't be afraid to use longer and darker lines. Good drawings overall!

Great start! I'd agree with Aliencommando. Go ahead and pull a bit of horse anatomy ref to get an idea of general proportions. This could give you some base build proportions too. Start with big rough shape proportions and make sure those look right before drawing in the details.

You have some really good horse drawings. I would suggest you might want to add to your knowledge base some information on animal anatomy. Just like with human anatomy, you will have a knowledge and understanding of what you are drawing. Are you using the Line-of-Action Animals section? If not you should check it out. Whatever you do, you need to keep practicing.

Very exceptional start in your animals, specifically horses Tkbrown82, however I've got one smallest feedback for you: I see some of the rigidity of the equines here, why don't you please completely loosen yourself your hand/hands, in 26 more minutes of 30 second sketches?



And why???? Because you proportions of the animals will become jaw-droppingly sensitive and appealing.
