50 min sketch from 2 hour session

by Rashuneagle, January 11th 2022 © 2022 Rashuneagle

Done as part of a 2 hour class.

My current goal is: Better understand human anatomy, so I can render imagined poses

I really focused more on the proportions again. It's been my main focus lately

Rashuneagle,

Better! Much better.

But before you take your first bowl remember you do not have to have the whole body on the page. Don't try to stubbornly "make it fit" Cinderella stepsister style.

Just because it is the ideal- aka the whole form on the page, doesn't mean we should place the whole figure on the surface. Let your natural proportions take over and let it fall off the page. Don't sweat it, because it is better to be proportionate in this case than to make the form fit onto the whole surface.

All the best,

Thank you Michelle!

I'll keep your advice in mind, during my next practice session. Your advice has been really helpful.

Nice variation in shades. To my eye the legs are too long copared to the torso. Also the feet and the head are maybe too small. Haven't seen the model photo, though.

Exceptional job on your gestures, spaces, relationships, values, and your important gestalt on your figure nude. Way to go, and keep up the greater work.

Yet this pose doesn't seem or look fluider, livelier, and animated enough to me. How would you please free up your hands, dominant and non-dominant, with 3 hours of 1 minute poses and nude attitudes? (180 sketches of a diversity of attitudes) The reason why you'd put into more than enough effort is because your understanding and control of the human anatomy will become less rigid and stiffer, and more then dynamic, vital, and furthermore, energetic into your posing. Hope this stuff has helped you out even more poignantly and meaningfully.
