So as per suggestion, I did a few studies of the hands/ feet. I am surprised at how much fun I had with these!

Very nicely done. You might want to try using more light and shadow to really model the drawing. Are these taken from photos or did you use your own hands as a model?

Those are from timed practice on this site. You are right about shadows, although I'm not really interested in rendering sketches like these it is still something I should keep practicing. Thanks for your suggestions!
