May 7, 2014 11:37am #149Hello every one I found your drawing tools about 2 weeks ago and think they are fantastic, I've been using them as often as I can in between work and children etc. I was wondering if anyone could give me some critique, I'm pretty OK with CG software and I'm desperate to make the stories in my head into animations, but I struggle with concepting the characters and stories have pretty much stayed in my head, I have tried developing ideas in the 3D programs it's a huge time drain, so I've been practicing my drawing so I can do things in the normal work flow. Any way I started 10 days ago here's my results, I tend to do a 1 hour class style session. I would really appreciate as many pointers as you can offer.

May 13, 2014 7:38pm #1146Hello Matthew!
I've looked through the images you posted and there are some seriously stunning pieces in there! Amazing job. :)
I have to ask, is the issue with you being unable to draw something from your own head? Some of the images are exceptionally well drawn in a lot of highlight and shading detail, and I'm not exactly certain in what way we can help further your skills if you're already so good at creating detailed works.
However, it's not uncommon for people to be good at drawing what they see but having a tough time at creating figures from nothing. I'd love to give my thoughts on the gesture drawings, but I don't want to give you useless info.
Can you be a bit more specific with what the problems are you're facing? I'll try to reply asap!2May 14, 2014 4:40am #1151Yep you've pretty much hit the nail on the head, I'm not bad when there's a model or photo in front of me, thanks for the kind words by the way, but original creations are causing me issues, troublesome since my ultimate goal is to concept my sci-fi characters.
My thoughts was that I just haven't done enough practice, I'm not the sort of person who can sit around with a sketch book doodling, despite best intentions, so I've not got a bank of things built up in my head to draw on.
If you have advice to offer it would be very much appreciated.

Hope this has been concrete,
