30 secs twist

Great work on your poses' twists and turns, Naima, please keep up the great work. However, they are not too organic enough yet, yet how would you like to please push them mostly like dough or putty with 4.5 more hours of 16 second quick poses? (4.5 x 3600/16, 16,200/16=about 1013 quick scribbles done most loosely)

3600x5=18,000; 3600x4=14,400, 144,000+18,000=162,000 + .=16,200

So that your storytelling will have the quickest and most efficient feelings for communication of ideas and energies. The most you'll practice, the best you'll sooner or later become. But be warned, that it can seem like an unlimited amount of time, still it's worth it.

Let's hope they can and shall, and will benefit and support you.

These look great for thirty seconds, but I would definitely recommend starting with guidelines and simple shapes, rather than going straight in to draw the silhouette. These drawings are pretty strong, but some of them have proportions slightly wrong or seem a little stiff. Starting with a line of action, then drawing in the head, lines to indicate the shoulders and hips, lines for the limbs, and simple shapes for the ribcage and pelvis, would help make the drawings more accurate and dynamic. In a thirty-second drawing, don't expect to finish the pose, just some gestural guidelines is enough, you should only really attempt refinement when you have 5+ minutes. that's what works for me anyway - I'm a pretty slow drawer.

Try the 'S' challenge.

Instead of drawing the figure with the use of shapes. Draw all the letters 'S'-s you can find in the body and let them represent your figure. You can do this with up to 5 five minute poses.

Why?

It works on your expression and quality of line. Thick-to-thin lines say so much, but because they are boring to draw, we often don't take the time to appreciate them as an art tool. (GUILTY)

Use graphite pencils or pens with different shades of grey. I have a 9H-14B set, and it makes such a difference when expressing the figure via line quality.

That twist you mentioned is always found in the figure's curve of the 's'. It's also the spot you can make the figures pose the most dramatic.
