I'm thinking of using these gestures in my animation portfolio. These are all longish ones from the past few weeks. Feedback greatly appreciated

The first 7 are very recent; the rest of the album is in chronological order. Thanks for looking!

My feedback: I am really impressed. Very reduced, yet narrative lines. Your figures look stylized and elegant, but very lifelike and dynamic as well. I could hide behind claiming that "my style" is different than yours, but the truth is, I would like to be able to consistently do what you do, and would have a hard time to consistently mimick your results.

What author/mentor/tutor/method you would say helped you the most, and do you have a rough estimate on how many hours you dedicated to them?

thanks so much! proko's videos and demos on gesture were what got me started and they really helped me get an understanding for it. i'm also really inspired by artists like filipe andrade, claire wendling, sophie li (https://www.instagram.com/mmcoconut/?hl=en), and this guy https://www.instagram.com/kaladenn/?hl=en as of late. their figures are so elegant and expressive, and i try my very best to emulate what they do.

i've started consistently practicing gesture from early august. usually fill up a page or two with 1 min gestures and the ones in colored pencil usually take around 5 min or more, depending on how much i like them lol. but i pretty much only draw people and animals so i get a lot of practice. couple hours a day at least. i dont really have a method, i just try to think about form and making my shapes look nice

    M. Eteng,

I feel you have lovely gestures, but I would like to see a bit more mussels in your works. Looking at them made me instantly think that you may have sacrificed flow for solidity in space.

This may just be your style. But a bit more bulk, I feel, will bring up your art to the next level.

    Thanks for sharing.

    All the best,
