Gestrue Faces 6

Done as part of a 1 hour class. My current goal is: A mix of many, to develop my style via the better understanding of the human body, as well as loosen up my art going forward. Learning the basics is big for a guy who wants to learn hand drawn animation Doing a week focused on faces, this is #6 of my many practices.

I would try to break away from the traditional guidelines, and try to compare the position of features to each other (ex: if in the photo the tip of the nose is directly above the chin, make sure your drawing matches that)

the rendering is pretty heavy, i would go a lot lighter, saving black for only the most intense of shadows. (blur your eyes to see the values of a photo more easily!)

also try looking at your drawing, then the photo back and forth really fast, that helps me a lot.

aiming for the best realism you can manage will naturally create your style. it'll give you the tools to execute your vision more precicely!

As Velloria already pointed out try branch out from the construction - we are all made different and sometimes the schematic proportions look weird if we try to force the models face into them. But I like your faces they have a sense of volume and expression so just keep at it. :3

I think that you're really doing a far nicest job on your lines of action in your faces and expression, but I feel that these faces and organic faces need the most flexibility and plasiticity in exaggerations. Would you like to do our interactive drawing tutorial?
