The second drawing is a big improvement, I think you should practice more very short sketches to get used to getting the line of action , ribs and hips in the right place, and getting used to quickly assessing the overall composition. The front leg should be a little larger since it’s in the foreground with a little more curve to the top of the thigh, it’s a bit too dead straight, but seems like your practise is paying off as the second sketch has much more form
