You've captured the expression of your subject rather well with his eyes. The wrinkles on his forehead and around the eyes are nice touches too; you haven't overdone it, which is an easy trap to fall into.
If you aren't doing so already, play around with different face shapes and expressions. Doing this, will help you become more confident in general, so you're not stuck with one face shape or expression.
Also when you're ready, place around with light and shading. This could emphasise the subject's facial expression.
Keep it up!
