Figure drawing practice, 4/23/20

by Pilot, April 23rd 2020 © 2020 Pilot

Done as part of a 30 minute class.

My current goal is: Improve at correctly capturing the overall proportions of the human form

I feel like i got a better handle on gesture drawing today, drawing the ribs and hips in instead of just the shoulder and hip lines helped a lot. 1 min sketches

Hey, great job! It seems like currently you're working on line of action and a basic motion skeleton. It's a great way to keep motion and stay away from stiffness. One tip I'd like to suggest is focusing on the big body shapes. It looks like youve drawn the head, the shoulders, and a little of the arms. I'd suggest not to spend a lot of time on the details connecting them. The arms dont necessarily have to be oval-shaped either, try using rounded triangles. Overall, great work, one minute sketches are hard for me but im glad you've decided to try it out.

PS- If you want to add an additional thing to practice, try using curvier lines when showing the spine, legs, arms, and shoulders. It's a small change but it helps!
