Done as part of a 1 hour class.

My current goal is: Better understand human anatomy, so I can render imagined poses.

You have a good start going and I can see the basis of the pose. I am having a hard time reading the pose and the lines aren't coming off as purposeful. I need to see the clear like of the man sitting and the open book and how all pulled together. Keep it up!

Thank you!

This is literally my third day on this website and I'm not an artist (but I want to be). I've only done 1 figure class, only a few hours practising hands and total of 2-3 hours of art classes lifetime total. But this website keeps asking me to critique so I'll try my best. In your drawing, I can see the head and the line of action. However, if you did the first class on this website, it says to draw an oval for the torso and another circle for the hips. I can also see the book and the chair. I can't tell if this was a 30 second drawing or a 10 minute drawing, so maybe next time specify in your description so we can understand what was going on. But I think even with a 30 second drawing, you could show us where the torso and hips are.
