Done as part of a 30 minute class.

My current goal is: Improve at correctly capturing the overall proportions of the human form

An Egyptian godess ( ఠൠఠ )ノ! I suggest you start out with pen and paper. I think the tablet is throwing you off, or you could do both to get used to the hand eye coordination. I also think you should look very hard at what you're drawing and think about the form that is on the screen. A big disadvantage of drawing people from photos is that you lose 3 dimensionality of what you're drawing, even if you think you know it's 3d your brain will fool you. Your face here is a very good example, it's a symbol of what we think about the face and its features and I think everyone goes through this stage in the beginning. Try and look at some figure drawing tutorials before your next session and try different ways of drawing, just hang in there and you'll improve whether you believe it or not

I would suggest to try practicing making a single stroke and to build confidence in your mark-making. Even if the line does not fall precisely where intended, it is better to practice a confidence in drawing shapes instead of a more 'scratchy' line. Even if this means filling a page with single stroke lines in different thickness, patterns or directions, it may seem silly at first but it helped me!
