Day 9 of Gestures

by Illustratorbiancad, June 2nd 2020 © 2020 Illustratorbiancad
Done as part of a 30 minute class. My current goal is: Improve at correctly capturing the overall proportions of the human form
Polyvios Animations
Admirable job on your latest sketch, Illustratorbiancad, however, I've got one smaller suggestion: Why don't you go for loosening up your hand in your next 11 minutes of 60 second sketches of figure studies, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty please, please, please, please???? The impulse is because, your overall proportions of the human forms will become even most intuitive in your next practice. Trust that it'll be very positively beneficlal.

Hi,

I think your gesture is good, and it would be even better if you focused more in the shadows and highlights. it would help you understanding the shape of what you draw in 3D

I hope my critique helped you.

I think it looks great! Very lifelike and I can feel the weight of the body, grounded on the ground plane-the way the hands and feet are done, he feels appropriately balanced!

You body sketch is very good and lifelike and proportional. If I had to offer advice, I would say that all the body planes are about the same softness and sometimes things can become more dynamic looking if you think of the body as an opposing series of straight lines and curves...I made a little drawing to try and show you what I mean. https://www.dropbox.com/s/z6w1ybvwakelvey/Straightsandcurves.jpg?dl=0

I hope it helps! Keep at it because your stuff looks awesome! You have a very solid handle on body construction!
