Day 6, Trying a different approach.

by Starcursedmass, October 19th 2021 © 2021 Starcursedmass

Done as part of a practice session with poses of 30 seconds in length.

I tried doing a 30 second set of figures, instead of the class today. I just kept going until my arm hurt. The idea was to get a better feel for the lines of action, and the angles of the ribs and pelvis. In hindsight, I should have used boxes instead of ovals this time. I watched a video going over how the angles of certain body parts really help with the structure of the gesture. This works for me, as I tend to be more constructionist with drawing, rather than fluid and intuitive. It gave me something to measure.

My current goal is: I don't know! I am an absolute beginner; I'm here to study the basics of rendering, stay consistant with practice.

Hi, just dropping in because I was interested in your progress, and I'm glad that you're starting to find what works for you! It can definitely be confusing to get a bunch of different (usually conflicting) suggestions from people, so just keep in mind that any suggestion is just that- a suggestion. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable with the methods you're using. Congrats on your progress!

Excellent work on your organic-ness and flow of your lines of action, Starcursedmass. Very, very GOOD!
