Perfect Shapes Circle 2

by Jcmlfineart, December 5th 2021 © 2021 Jcmlfineart

Goal:

Draw flat simple shapes in one stroke of your implement. Try to make them as perfectly symmetrical as possible.

CIRCLE

Orinatic

This is a good start, but it looks like you're drawing your circles very slowly-and-controlledly, and that's going to cause wobble.

Try "ghosting" (do the stroke without touching the page) a few times for each circle, and then try making the circle quickly. Your precision will suffer, but your line quality will be much better.

See https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/ghostedlines for a better explanation of ghosting.

Good luck, and keep at it!

First of all, those circles look good and clean. Great job.

To add on what Orinatic said, you might want read the elipses drawabox exercise. It's practically what you are trying to do with a few tips: https://drawabox.com/lesson/1/tablesofellipses

Best wishes, and kept practicing.

I love how cool of a concept this is! How cool would it be if you added some shading and made those into little bubbles :D

Ari,

Yes! That would be fun.

Your suggestion is actually a later goal of mine. This is just drawing flat, perfect shaped images in one stroke. But in time, I want to do the same thing and then shade them all using a single dot randomly placed as a light source on the page. It will definitely be a more interesting exercise to look at.

Why not take your idea and the "dot light" exercise and do your version? I would love to see what you come up with as an image.

All the best,
