Done as part of a practice session with poses of 5 minutes in length.
My current goal is: Better understand human anatomy, so I can render imagined poses

These are good. Do you draw a quick underdrawing? I see people creating the structure with light lines when they are inventing heads. Perhaps you can try that, to get used to building a basci structure before "only" copying from the reference.

very good for 5 minutes, the only real issues that i can mention is the line weight could be worked on to help give it some depth, some details to indicate the movement and type of hair, shading if you're interested in that, and the right head's right side can use just the slightest hint of a cheekbone so the eye doesn't look like it's just hanging on to a profile headshot. Overall, it's good.

After all, your faces and heads are looking a bit too stiffest, blandest, and rigidest to my tastes. How would you care to do 30 minutes of 2 minute gesture sketches of faces and expressions? As a result, your understanding of faces and noodles will become the most controlled and understood, and most of the stiffness will go away, and to achieve the most dynamicness, vitality and spontaneity in the most rawness. For most info on the drawing of heads, faces, and expressions, look up the Nancy Beiman book. Her book can help you out the most. Cheers to you, and I hope this has been all-supportive, helpful, and encouraging.
