Some one-minute exercises to find relaxation and movement

by Yuxin Zhang, January 17th 2023 © 2023 Yuxin Zhang

Done as part of a practice session with poses of 60 seconds in length.

My current goal is: I don't know! I am an absolute beginner; I'm here to study the basics of rendering

On the first day, I painted for half an hour and always wanted to deduct a deduction, but I felt crazy because I didn't have enough time. Yesterday, I tried to copy a poster of Avatar because I didn't know how to draw it.I felt a little comfortable when I painted today.

Good morning, Yuxin, and great job on your range of motion on your gestural attitudes, but great, great job on rendering the colors and values of your picture of the Avatar characters. Keep up the good work indeed!

But however, I have one small suggestion. I love how good a job you did on your study of the poster and the gesture poses, but I don't enough of that in your poster exercise in those poses of Avatar. How would you like to please free up your shoulders and elbows of varying dominance with 1 hour of 30 second quick sketches of figures and blue characters, using the vertical, then horizontal flips?

Because if you do this tiny, little, small suggestion, you'll be a lot less precious with the quality of the sketches and more into the quantity of the rough sketches you can bang out, just to get involved in this way of thinking.

Good luck to you from me, and good night.

May the joy and happiness around you today and always:)

Good evening,Polyvios.I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you for your selfish assistance. In recent practice, I have made some progress, but I want to show you some better lines, so I didn't upload the exercise results today (because I only have five opportunities to send pictures a month)Thanks again for your help and I will continue to practice 30 seconds of sketch. I really like painting very much.

It is great how you keep going and exercise continously. As the amount of poses shows you really work one pose per minute. Have you tried the line of action methode with only bold body volumes? It helps me to catch the over all movements. And it seems you like colores, why don't you try to work with one funky color and a brush, may be it adds some fun.

Thank you very much for your advice and encouragement.Thick lines are really better for finding shape, and yes, I really like color. Today, I used two colors of color lead sketches, which is really interesting! Tomorrow I will try to paint with a brush or marker.

Very good for a beginner, be consistent and do more.

I'm sorry. I just had some problems with my computer.

Your coloring is really awesome! I feel envious (in a good way which it also inspires me to follow your example and try coloring, too. :3)

Back to the other sketches, your proportion and notion of basic anatomy and gestures are very good.

What i recommend for you is to push forward to sketches of 2 ~ 5min duration - or even longer if you feel like doing - and also try the "foreshortening" perspective (where, for example, arms are near the observer of drawing, the POV is either from bottom or top perspective) but combine the duration of the drawing + perspective into an impactful gesture (like action heroes, romantic dances, etc)

Later, you might want to focus on isolated elements to enhance your muscular anatomy of human body - These you need to focus a whole month or more just doing them or + with the basic sketches.

All these lessons will help further into other areas like fauna, flora, objects, even architecture and landscapes. Your perception will increase overall; you just need to keep practicing and don't be afraid to make mistakes as long you understand them

Kudos, friend! :3

Oh my friend, I am so happy to see your comment, and I am so excited that I don't know what to say. I will reply to you tomorrow after I organize the language.:D

Akirazin

I'm also very happy with your comment ^-^ To know someone saw my comment and got inspired to keep practicing something they like or love is just priceless. :)

If you're concerned with English language, don't worry about it,friend! Just keep practicing and always try to listen to videos and/or try to speak with more people in english. Even better yet if you can do this that involves art and drawing tutorials (expanding your technical grammar and vocabulary!)

See ya!

It's very kind of you to give me such awesome detailed guidance .These are some very good suggestions and I will have a try in the next days!I will work hard to learn painting and English expression.Thank you very much for taking the time to help and encourage me.>v
