Hi artist friends!
You've probably noticed that there is a new cookie consent banner that replaces our older one. This one allows you finer control over what you do or do not consent to, and moves us into better compliance with EU online privacy laws (we're USA based, but I'm trying to do due diligence for as many people as I can.)
Please note that if you decline to allow any marketing or statistics cookies, I won't be able to automatically display Youtube or off-site image embeds on the forums -- this is because other sites will usually set their own cookies when any part of them is embedded here, and if you didn't consent to that type of cookie, I can't let them have any access to you via their images because they'd almost certainly add a tracker. That's just how the modern internet works. 🤷♀️
Don't worry, if you upload an image to your on-site sketchbook, those can still be displayed on the forums without being blocked by anyone's cookie consents, because I can vouch for our own images behaving vis a vis respecting your selected cookie consents. :)
If you're curious, I have a thorough description of how, why and for how long your info is used by Line of Action here! I've tried very hard to be transparent.
On the subject of transparency: For decades I've had trouble finding an advertising partner who was willing to work with me due to the existence of nude images in our library, so we've mostly just run our own ads or ads for other projects I've built. But I was finally, finally contacted by a company where some of the staff actually use the site, and they have offered to do real advertising for me. I literally cried with relief.
I am very hopeful that this will assist in supporting the site financially, and I thank you for your patience in seeing them. Please let me know if any of the ads are flashing, playing sounds, getting in the way, or any other unacceptable behaviors that make the site harder to use.
You can support the site directly and see no ads for as little as $1.49 a month.
