Hi I'm basically an art baby only having started in May but unfortunately quiting due to realizing that I had the wrong attitude and mindset towards art.But over the months I realized that my passion for this subject was buring more than ever and I was willing to come back, more motivated and disciplined than ever. I want to get into character design so I figured Figure drawing would be a great place to start.
May someone please take a look at my art practices and suggest any way I could improve in my technique
Hi Joehcker , I'm happy to hear your passion for art came back so strongly! At this point, personally, I would suggest focusing more on quantity over quality.
Try finding a number of poses that is achievable (and will not burn you out) for you to draw daily. You should see visible improvements at this stage after just two or three weeks of daily drawing. Don't throw away old sketches, use them to measure your progress!~
Hi, well, I love your figures, they seem to have movement and do translate the pose, I think if I was to be shown the pictures, I could pick out the ones that formed the basis of your drawing... the last link is interesting as it makes me think of what I do too... I want soooooo desperately to be able to draw in proportion and with some likeness, I want to run before I can walk, so the figure on the right looks like it s a step too far too early :-) whereas the figure on the left although less 'finished' is in fact 'better' as in more suggestive....
I agree with - and take on board for myself too - the recommendations of Jefimija: practice practice practice!
